From gravel Parking lot to
Waterfront Park
The Opportunity
Today, this space serves as a parking lot. But it holds the potential to become something much more — a welcoming, shared place along the harbor.
A front porch to the waterfront
A gathering space for locals and visitors
A destination that reflects Fish Creek’s character
Two Paths Forward
A concept is being put forward the space to be developed into a town-owned parking lot accessible by the Marina boaters only. We are calling for a timeless public waterfront park that celebrates Fish Creek’s maritime heritage, provides open access to the harbor, restores natural beauty and connects people to the waterfront through recreation, history and community.
Option 1: Paved Parking Lot
Currently, a gravel lot with parking.
The renderings below show the current gravel lot turned into a paved lot for private use only.
Option 2: Harbor Park Vision
A destination space that adds community, beauty, and long-term value.
Why it matters
Fish Creek is known for being quaint, welcoming, progressive, and uplifting. This site has the potential to become a living reflection of those values.
A park in this location could:
Improve the visual experience of the waterfront
Create a stronger sense of arrival in Fish Creek
Offer a shared space for connection across generations
Support community pride and long-term vibrancy
Add value beyond parking alone
A vision worth exploring
What if this space could serve both practical needs and community aspirations?
What if, over time, it became one of Fish Creek’s most meaningful public places?
With the right support and partnership, this area could evolve from a gravel lot into a park that welcomes people, tells a story, and strengthens the harbor for years to come.
