From gravel Parking lot to
Waterfront Park
The Opportunity
Today, this space serves as a gravel parking lot. But it holds the potential to become something much more — a welcoming, shared place along the harbor. The current board-approved concept uses prime waterfront property for private parking.
We are asking that you weigh in on this plan and consider parking placement, traffic flow, and public safety on our waterfront.
One plan two priorities
A concept is being put forward for the space to be developed into a town-owned parking lot with a park.
We are calling for a the once in a lifetime opportunity to take this nearly 4 million dollar piece of property and turn it into a timeless public waterfront park that celebrates Fish Creek’s maritime heritage, provides open access to the harbor, restores natural beauty, and connects people to the waterfront through recreation, history, and community.
There is a possibility to do both add parking and take advantage of the waterfront property.
Priority 1: Harbor Park Vision
The Fish Creek Harbor has the potential to be the most celebrated waterfront property in the county, showcasing our unique harbor and view of Peninsula State Park.
Priority 2: Paved Parking Lot
Currently a neglected gravel parking lot that has impeded the view of our beloved harbor for generations.
The renderings below show what the current parking lot could look like if the approved town board concept moves forward.
Beyond aesthetics, safe traffic flow and proper ingress/egress need to be considered.
Board approved Concept for Parking Lot & Harbor WAlk Park
While the proposed plan includes park and lawn, we are asking you to consider the placement of the parking, and use of waterfront property as a parking lot.
A vision worth exploring
What if this space could serve both practical needs and community aspirations?
What if, over time, it became one of Fish Creek’s most meaningful public places?
With the right support and partnership, this area could evolve from a gravel lot into a park that welcomes people, tells a story, and strengthens the harbor for years to come.
